What you can expect as a Facilities Custodian at West Star:

This position is responsible for daily janitorial tasks around the hangar offices and facilities. The job duties will vary each day and are designated by the site General Manager.

You will play a critical role across a variety of functions, including:

• Maintaining clean floors by sweeping, dusting, mopping, scrubbing, and vacuuming
• Cleaning, servicing, and restocking restrooms (toilets, urinals, sinks, fixtures, floors, and trash)
• Performing floor care such as wet mopping, stripping, waxing, sealing, and buffing
• Collecting and removing trash to designated disposal areas
• Cleaning windows and dusting light fixtures
• Loading, unloading, and distributing supplies; servicing lobbies, high-traffic areas, and completing special cleaning projects
• Running errands and procuring office and hangar supplies and catering as needed
• Operating powered equipment used in custodial operations
• Keeping janitorial closets clean, organized, and well-stocked
• Completing paint touch-ups in break rooms, offices, and restrooms
• Installing and hanging pictures, whiteboards, TVs, and office furnishings as needed
• Assembling, moving, and reconfiguring furniture as required
• Performing other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor or management

What you’ll need to bring with you:

Your Education
A High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Your Experience
Custodian experience is preferred

Your Initiative

Your Responsibility:
Attend work every day as scheduled to include overtime and weekend assignments.
Notify supervisor in advance of shift starting if unable to work.
Must have reliable transportation to get to work each and every day.
Follow all company and safety rules during performance of duties.
Maintain a safe working environment.
Report unsafe conditions to site General Manager.
Read and follow all label instructions on chemical materials and operating instructions for powered equipment.
Report accidents immediately to site General Manager.

Physical Requirements
Lift and carry at least 50 lbs.
Bend, stoop and reach.
Climbing ladders
Routine walking, bending and squatting or sitting.

Mental Requirements
Work with others in a professional manner.
Treat all building occupants with courtesy and respect at all times.

Supervision
Will work collaboratively and coordinate job duties with all site personnel and take direction from site General Manager.

Working Conditions
The majority of work will be accomplished in a heated hangar or shop area.
Work with and around chemical cleaning compounds.

Equipment Used
Powered equipment normally found in janitorial operations.
