What you can expect as a Lead, Shipping and Receiving Clerk at West Star:
In this role, you will supervise daily dock operations, manage workflows, and conduct staff performance appraisals. This role requires an enthusiastic self-starter with strong project management, problem-solving, and negotiation skills to secure optimal vendor agreements. You will independently oversee the entire shipping and receiving function, from strategic partnering and order expediting to hands-on personnel backup. Collaboration is key, as you will work with diverse, cross-functional teams and manage regular independent projects. To ensure compliant operations, you must maintain a working knowledge of supplier economics, market trends, and FAA regulations. Finally, you will constructively resolve conflicts and execute any other job-related duties assigned by management

You will be ESSENTIAL to many FUNCTIONS including:

Supervise and oversee daily activity of Shipping/Receiving.
Complete performance appraisals for Shipping/Receiving.
Instruct personnel with job duties and develop improvements to their processes.
Work independently on projects on a regular basis.
Maintain high standards of certification and traceability of all parts and products received across the docks.

Review and oversee dock operations in the shipment and receipt of all products, materials, and supplies.
Collaborates and communicates with shipping/receiving personnel, service providers, and others involved in the shipment and receipt of products. .
Reconcile and investigate missed/loss shipments and invoices.
Oversee and coordinate activities such as loading and unloading cargo, ensuring safety regulations are followed, and ensuring that cargo is processed and handled correctly.
Responsible for activity in Shipping/Receiving areas.
Work closely with internal departments to monitor usage.
Work closely with Quality Department to assure receiving information is accurate.
Any other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor or management.

What you'll need to bring with you:

Your Education          
Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
A valid driver’s license with no major violations that is approved for airline travel is required.

Your Experience           
Must have 5+ years Shipping/Receiving/Logistics experience.
Aviation parts experience beneficial but not required.
Must have prior inventory control experience.
Must have prior supervisory or managerial experience.
Must have previous computer experience with mainframe and PC databases.
Must have experience with Internet use.
Must be able to work with numbers and calculations.
Must have strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills.

Other Particulars:

Physical Requirements   
Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
Routine walking, bending and usage of stairs.
Sit at desk and / or computer for extended intervals.

Mental Requirements
Ability to prioritize work load.

Ability to work with new or upgraded computer systems.

Working Conditions 
Full-time position working in an office and warehouse environment.

Equipment Used  
Telephone and other office communication equipment.
Barcode scanners and inventory equipment.
Forklift and material handling equipment (if certified).
Standard office and warehouse equipment.

Compensation & Benefit Information

The following information is disclosed according to state specific requirements. If the position applied to is not in a state with these requirements, the following information may not apply. The hourly rate for this position generally ranges between  23.10 - 34.80. Actual hourly rate will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience and performance. Additional compensation in the form of a shift differential will be provided if the employee is assigned to an alternate shift. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package. Other forms of compensation include a semi-annual discretionary bonus, 401(k) company match and employer contribution to a Health Savings Account (HSA).
