What you can expect as a Parts Clerk at West Star:

As a Parts Clerk, you will manage vital inventory flows—verifying incoming material under FAA regulations, routing freight to internal departments, and prepping critical orders for our customers and mechanics. If you are highly organized, thrive on variety, and want to be central to our daily success, this role is for you.

You will be ESSENTIAL to many FUNCTIONS including:
· Assist with the receipt of all incoming parts under FAA receiving regulations.
· Verify material with proper documentation.
· Assist parts count and parts runner personnel.
· Stock shelves, conduct cycle counts and maintain stock room organization.
· Retrieve / stage parts for distribution to intercompany personnel and outside customers.
· Assist with receiving and prepping for shipments.
· Any other job-related duties as assigned supervisor or management.

What you’ll need to bring with you:

Your Education:
A High school diploma or equivalent.
A valid driver’s license with no major violations that is approved for airline travel is required.

Your Experience:
Candidates will need to have experience working with computers, numbers and calculations.
Experience using FedEx Powership or UPS Online is ideal.

Your Initiative:
We’re looking for team players who are self-motivated and able to perform in a fast paced environment where working under specific deadlines and time constraints will be common. Must be well organized, have a high attention to detail, strong written/verbal/analytical and interpersonal skills and the capability to work with minimal supervision.

Your Sense of Responsibility:
Attend work every day as scheduled.
Notify supervisor in advance of shift starting if unable to work.
Must have reliable transportation to get to work each and every day.
Responsible for handling of fragile expensive aircraft avionics components.
Responsible for integrity of parts while in your possession until delivered.
Deliver and retrieve parts to and from mechanics in a timely manner.

Other particulars:

Physical Requirements
Lifts 50 lbs.
Routine walking, bending and use of stairs.
Considerable amount of walking and being on your feet eight+ hours per day.

Mental Requirements
Work with others in a professional manner.
Prioritize workload.
Work with new or upgraded computer systems.

Supervision
Work under supervision of the Materials Manager.
May be directed to supervise other purchasers on specific projects.
Work with minimal supervision.

Working Conditions
This is a full-time position working in all types of environments to include outside on aircraft ramps in all types of weather.

Equipment Used
Mainframe database, PC Computer, telephone, FAX, calculator, FedEx Powership, UPS Online, Forklift and miscellaneous power/hand tools.

Compensation & Benefit Information

The following information is disclosed according to state specific requirements. If the position applied to is not in a state with these requirements, the following information may not apply. The hourly rate for this position generally ranges between 22.00 - 29.00. Actual hourly rate will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience and performance. Additional compensation in the form of a shift differential will be provided if the employee is assigned to an alternate shift. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package. Other forms of compensation include a semi-annual discretionary bonus, 401(k) company match and employer contribution to a Health Savings Account (HSA).
