What You Can Expect as an Aircraft Interior Technician at West Star:
As an Aircraft Interior Technician, you will be based at one of our Fleet or Service Hubs. You will have the opportunity to work on some of the most sophisticated private aircraft in the world. Duties may include the removal and installation of carpeting, insulation, soundproofing, and fabric accessories; various amounts of parts replacement and repair; basic electrical system installation; modifications; refurbishments; and general mechanical applications on aircraft interiors. Job duties will vary by type and scope, as designated by the Interior Team Leader.

What You’ll Need to Bring with You:
Your Education:
A high school diploma or equivalent. A valid driver’s license approved for airline travel and/or a valid passport is ideal but not required.
Your Experience:
5+ years of experience working on private aviation interiors is preferred.
Your Initiative:
We’re looking for team players who are self-motivated and able to perform in a fast-paced environment where working under specific deadlines and time constraints will be common.
Your Sense of Responsibility:
Attend work every day as scheduled, including overtime and weekend assignments.
Notify the supervisor in advance if you are unable to work.
You must have reliable transportation to get to work each day.
Perform all work in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration guidelines.
Follow all company and safety rules during the performance of duties.
Maintain customer-oriented work habits.
Assist in major modification work as needed.
Other Particulars:
Physical Requirements:
Lift and carry at least 70 lbs.
Routine walking, bending, squatting, or sitting.
Work on elevated platforms (up to 40 feet in the air) using fall protection safety gear.
Engage in routine or repetitive physical motions with arms and hands, emphasizing grasping, feeling, and finger dexterity.
Stand for long periods.
Climb ladders and stairs, working in small, restricted areas.
Mental Requirements:
Understand and implement regulations and guidelines, including but not limited to OSHA and Hazmat.
Professionally work with others.
Plan and organize procedures and operations.
Read various reports and blueprints.
Working Conditions:
The majority of work will be performed in a hangar or shop environment that can have extreme temperatures, from hot to cold.
Work outside on the ramp on occasion.
Varied positions in and around the aircraft.
Equipment Used:
Personal hand tools supplied by the mechanic.
Electrical power tools such as sanders, saws, power drills, etc.
Sheet metal cutters, glue guns, and metal benders.
Tugs, power carts, and other engine-powered equipment.
Spray booth and all related equipment.
Compensation & Benefit Information
The following information is disclosed according to state specific requirements. If the position applied to is not in a state with these requirements, the following information may not apply. The hourly rate for this position generally ranges between $25.00 - $40.00. Actual hourly rate will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience and performance. Additional compensation in the form of a shift differential will be provided if the employee is assigned to an alternate shift. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package. Other forms of compensation include a semi-annual discretionary bonus, 401(k) company match and employer contribution to a Health Savings Account (HSA).
