Reporting to the General Counsel, this role collaborates closely with business leaders across the organization to deliver practical, business-oriented legal guidance on a range of matters, including commercial contracts, dispute resolution, insurance claims, employment issues, and regulatory compliance.

This position plays a key role in helping the Company effectively manage legal risk while enabling efficient and confident business operations. The Corporate Counsel is expected to contribute to the development and enhancement of internal legal capabilities, including promoting consistency in contract standards, strengthening oversight of disputes and claims, and supporting the evolution of legal processes and infrastructure. Through these efforts, the role helps advance operational effectiveness, maintain regulatory compliance, and support the Company’s ongoing growth and strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities & Core Competencies:

  • Disputes, Litigation & Claims: Support the management of disputes and litigation, including early case assessment and coordination with outside counsel, as well as oversight of insurance claims in collaboration with brokers and carriers. This includes contributing to strategy, protecting privilege where appropriate, and helping to manage costs and outcomes. Strong analytical judgment and an ability to navigate complex, and at times ambiguous, legal matters are valuable in this context.
  • Employment Law Support: Provide legal guidance on employment-related matters, including internal investigations, claims, and policy interpretation, with the goal of mitigating risk across a large and evolving workforce. The ability to exercise sound judgment and communicate clearly on sensitive matters is an important capability for this responsibility.
  • Regulatory & Compliance: Assist in monitoring and interpreting applicable regulatory requirements, including those related to aviation operations, trade compliance, and government contracting, and support the ongoing development of compliance processes and documentation. Familiarity with relevant regulatory frameworks and an ability to apply them in a practical business context are highly beneficial.
  • Cross-Functional Partnership & Execution: Partner with stakeholders across multiple business units to deliver clear, actionable legal guidance while managing a diverse and evolving workload. Success in this area generally requires strong communication skills, effective prioritization, and the ability to manage multiple matters in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
