What You Can Expect as a Regional Safety Manager at West Star:

The Regional Safety Manager plays a critical role in supporting personnel and leadership in developing, implementing, and continuously improving the company’s safety program. This position partners closely with operational teams to ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety (EHS) requirements while driving a strong safety culture across assigned locations.

This is a full-time position, ideally based at Dallas Love Field (DAL), with flexibility for highly qualified candidates at the following locations: Teterboro, NJ (TEB), Las Vegas, NV (LAS), West Palm Beach, FL (PBI), Washington, DC (IAD), Van Nuys, CA (VNY), Chicago, IL (MDW), or Seattle, WA (BFI).

You Will Be ESSENTIAL to Many FUNCTIONS, Including:

  • Partner with operational leadership to implement environmental, health, and safety (EHS) programs at assigned locations.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable EHS laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Monitor safety reporting processes and support the use of the company’s reporting system (Vocus).
  • Contribute to the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of West Star Aviation’s Safety 24/7 Safety Management System (SMS).
  • Prepare, edit, and review technical documentation for internal and external audiences.
  • Lead monthly Safety Action Team (SAT) meetings at assigned locations.
  • Conduct and/or support safety investigations.
  • Deliver safety training and maintain accurate records.
  • Promote a strong safety culture through reporting, data collection, analysis, and information sharing.
  • Conduct risk assessments and job hazard analysis.
  • Stay informed on industry changes, including regulations, technology, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with Quality department personnel on safety-related initiatives.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

What You’ll Need to Bring with You:

Your Education:

A bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience in aviation operations and/or safety management is required.

Your Experience:

A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, preferably in aviation safety, maintenance, or operations. Experience with Safety Management Systems (SMS) and knowledge of FAA regulations and guidance is strongly preferred. Familiarity with OSHA and EPA regulations is also required.

  • Maintain a valid driver’s license and meet airport security background check requirements.

Supervision:

  • Operates under the general direction of the Chief Safety and Quality Officer, with the ability to work independently.
  • May collaborate with and support multiple departments and teams.

Working Conditions:

  • Work is performed in both office and hangar environments.
  • Occasional exposure to varying temperatures and operational conditions.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time (mostly self-directed, based on business needs).

Equipment Used:

  • Standard office equipment, including computers and mobile devices (Apple).
  • Software systems such as Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and internal reporting tools.

The salary range for this position generally ranges between $75,000 - $100,000. Actual rate will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience and performance. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package. Other forms of compensation include a semi-annual discretionary bonus, as well as medical, dental, vision, life, disability, 401(k), paid holidays and vacation time.
